Cricket Format Explained
A clear understanding of each cricket format is essential for success in betting.
T20
20 overs per team, match lasts 3 to 4 hours. Betting markets: match winner, top batsman, total runs over/under. BPL and IPL are played in this format.
ODI (One-Day)
50 overs per team, played across the full day. The ICC World Cup and most Bangladesh Tigers series are played in this format.
Test
Up to 5 days of play, 2 innings each. This format offers the most opportunities for in-play betting and session betting.
The Hundred
A newer format from England, 100 balls per team. Betting markets also shift quickly in this fast-paced format.
Major leagues: BPL (Bangladesh), IPL (India), BBL (Australia), PSL (Pakistan) — live betting is available on all of them at ace165.
How to Read Odds
Understanding odds correctly is the first step for any successful bettor. The three common formats are explained simply below.
Decimal Odds — the easiest
If you bet ৳500 and the odds are 1.80, total return = ৳500 × 1.80 = ৳900 (profit ৳400).
Implied probability = (1 ÷ 1.80) × 100 ≈ 55.6% — meaning the bookmaker estimates the team's chance of winning at around 56%.
Fractional Odds
For example, 4/1 means ৳4 profit for every ৳1 wagered. The original stake is returned separately. Common in the British format.
American Odds (Moneyline)
+150 means ৳150 profit on a ৳100 bet; -150 means ৳100 profit on a ৳150 bet. Widely used in America.
